Ecstasy is something I have never nor will I ever do...but anyway I started looking around google and found the following...

Quote:
MDMA (3-4 methylenedioxymethamphetamine) is a synthetic, psychoactive drug chemically similar to the stimulant methamphetamine and the hallucinogen mescaline. Street names for MDMA include Ecstasy, Adam, XTC, hug, beans, and love drug.

That paragraph was taken from the following site...Its a site from the U.S Department of Health and Services. It also gives you a list of side-affects.

I guess none of you have considered the whole LEGAL part about this whole crap deal.

I think it would be stupid to even try it and I never will.

People have become too accepting

"Oh yeah go ahead and do illegal substances at young ages so that you can become addicted and waste all your money on it and kill all your brain cells so that you can turn into a bum on the street"

Nice going. really, way to work hard to achieve your goals and not do what other poeple are doing just because society accepts it.

Don't abuse your body like that! omg it makes me so angry when people have so much potential (like you with your running) and they would rather throw it away for some cheap thrills. That is what it is. Cheap thrills. And dont give me crap about "Oh but i'll only do a little bit so that it doesnt affect me" The SECOND that stuff gets into your body is affects you. The more you do it the more you need it. Thats why it is called ADDICTING.

Wake up and find better more productive ways to spend your time!!!! [Mad]

Jen.... its not necessarily addictive. I smoke when I want to, not when I NEED to. I say no alot of times when friends are smoking. In fact, I tend to ONLY smoke when I have a day off work the next day. Lately, that hasnt been often because im training to be manager at work. Legal or not, it doesnt matter. The government, especially in some countries *cough* USA *cough* regulates and restricts things far too much. Drinking age? bullshit. Seat Belt Laws? WTF?! illegal drugs? WHY! Its up to people to make their own educated decisions. If they accept the consequences of their actions.... its their choice. I beleive this is how it should be, and its how I live my life.

I personaly don't see what evereyone sees in smoking weed, getting drunk to the point they're puking and can't remember a thing etc.

Whats fun about that? Whats the purpose?

Some things are more interesting from person to person, but I still can't figure out how people can praise weed and alchohol so much.

Again, I have nothing against it - just not my thing.

Kris, I think (IMO ) peer pressure or the need to prove yourself is usually a big factor in smoking weed.

Drinking isnt about getting to the point of puking and not remembering. Its usually just where alot of people end up because they overdo things. The intent is just to either enjoy some good drinks, that include alcohol in them, or to actually get wasted and have a fun time. Same with weed. You usually have intent on either altering your perceptions, because its a weird and exciting feeling to have, because its something we ourselves cannot do without the help of such substances. Sometimes weed can actually help you understand things BETTER. Both weed and alcohol help people to be more social as well. Inhibitions are washed away, and then people have conversations that they normally would not let out. The party I had at halloween, people were very shy, didnt say much, and it was very dull at first. Then we went into the other room, smoked some weed, and did some jello shots and we all were talking and laughing the rest of the night. It was a great time. Peer pressure really doesnt have alot to do with it. No one actually forces a bowl to your lips or forces a beer down your throat on you. If someone doesnt want to, they usually arent made to. They may be asked, more than once even, but never made to do anything.

wow.... everyone loves that explanation, and I guess people understand it well? Irony behind that: I wrote the post while stoned! Last two nights I have been both stoned AND drunk. I luckily have some days off, cuz I like to take some days to straighten up before working again (see? Im even a RESPONSIBLE drunk/stoner)

I am personaly not a 'NO DRUGS, EVER!' sort of person, drugs like every substance can be used responsibly if you know with what your dealing with every so often.

But there is always that fact of it being abused extensively, or abused even slightly. Drugs are never ok if your putting it before family, work, school, etc. if your putting anything before the 'important' things then nothing is good.

You cannot kill your body by limited use, extensive long-term use can cause a lot of damage however - weed is not good for your body.

My opinion.
