I just really wanted to get an idea on what you guys thought about breastfeeding your child at 7 years old.
There was a programme on this evening all about and I found it really amazing that 7 year olds were screaming out "Bitty" and to the rescue came the mother who got them out as it were and the child started suckling! 7 year olds + teeth + nipple = OUCH!!
The child at one stage said that when she has babies and is able to reproduce milk she will also drink it
[The girl wants to continue to suck on something I suggest she gets herself a wee boyfriend]
Should children be able to be breastfed until the child says "I dont want to anymore" or should it be the parents decision to say "No more *throws him/her a bottle..suck on that*"
What age should it be encouraged to stop?

If the child and parent still finds it comfortable, and the child still enjoys the taste, who is to stop them? They may end up spoiled, but it's no different from the other ways parents spoil children.
I personally find that rather disturbing. Breast feeding is all well and dandy but there needs to be a point where that line is drawn and moves from the breast to the bottle. Id say a lot sooner then 7yrs old. My youngest nephew at the moment is 2 years old and isn't even on a bottle so to me 7 seems beyond too old for breast or bottle. JMO

About a year I draw the line. When their little its fine, but I have a 2 Year Old and I could never see me breast feeding her now. o.O She's a little hell raiser.
