Buddhism is a nice religion, but very different from a lot of others. It is more centered on moral philosophy than worship of a deity. It is concurrent with other religions too, someone can be Christian with Buddhist principles, or atheist as well as Buddhist.
Buddhism looks great. I don't follow a religion, I would consider myself agnostic. My parents practiced buddhism for a long time, and they thought it was much better than their previous religions (my mom was a catholic, and my father was jewish). I think that focusing on things other than just a god, is a great thing.
My mum & her boyfriend are Buddhist. My mum was raised as a Jehovah Witness, then converted to Christianity when she was older. Now she's been officially Buddhist for about 3 years & she's totally happy with her religion. She meditates every day & she's become a much calmer person because of it. She's also done quite a few retreats (2 where she went away for a month & another where she went away for a week) & she's about to go on another retreat next week.
