Sina, the blood loss depends on how deep they cut.

And just because someone seems happy and has a good life doesn't mean they ARE happy.

One of my cadets cuts themselves. I spotted it, interrogated her, and spent part of tonight in a conference with a few other officers.

I don't really think you should be interfering.

Its not interfering when you are legally responsible for their safety. It is required by law that we follow appropriate procedures.

I don't think you should be interfering is like saying "Don't do anything and get charged if someone finds out." Something I neglected to mention is that I know the person on a personal level.

Yeah, if you're responsible for someone, go ahead and try and help them I'd say.

Haha there is no right way to look at it. Cutting wrist it stupid and a call for attention. Even if the person thinks they really do wana die its all a cry for a attention. If someone really wanted to kill themself they would just do it. They wouldnt make it slow and pain full they would just out right do themselfs out. A large % of people who die from cutting wrist prob freak out after they realize what they have done but then its to late because no one is around to help them and the bleed to death.

I thought someone died pretty much instantly ( or within like 30 seconds ) from a slit wrist. I guess I was wrong?

Our brain isn't made that way, however badly someone wants to die it is extremely hard, it's easier to go do something like cutting instead of going to the extreme. And then it can easily lead to a mentally and physicaly addictive path.

The way you worded it to me sounds a bit 'bleh', I wouldnt say that people go to cut to CONCIOUSLY JUST get attention - that's silly and really close-minded.

You can cut your wrists without cutting all your veins [Rolling Eyes]

haha you think everything is close minded now kris [Razz] Im not saying its not ALL a cry for a attention but 9 times out of 10 it is, they may not set out mentaly doing it as a cry but it just happens to be that way.

Yeah - I've known people who slit just to get people to care about them. This one girl I knew cut so deep on a wekcam with someone that she hit a vein and never cut again because she was so scared

How is she still alive? When people die from cutting wrist its BECAUSE they hit the vein.
