Post subject: Homosexuality

People have the stupidest reasons as to why they're againist homosexuals.

"In the bible, God makes it clear that man and woman ae intended to be together and homosexuality is going againist God blahblahblah"

In the bible, it says fathers can sell their daughters into slavery. The bible isn't fit to be lived by in the modern day. Politicians, who lie, cheat, steal, who are againist homosexuality. They don't live their lives by the bible, why should they force their beliefs, which they have for stupid reasons, on other people?

The bell rang I have to go to French! *edits later*

Good point, and i agree

I think that if someone truly wants to be with their own sex, let them. Its their life, so let them live it how they wish. [Confused]

What bothers me about a ban on homosexual marriage in a secular society is that... there is no secular reason for banning it.

"Eww" is not sufficient a reason.
"[insert religious doctrine here] professes an anti-homosexual stance" is not sufficient a reason.
"[insert common stereotype or lie here]" is not sufficient a reason.

"Homosexual marriage should be banned because, as numerous scientific studies have backed to a considerable degree, homosexual marriages cause children to instantly fall down and die and for heterosexuals to convert to homosexuality" would be valid... if the statement is true and not simply being pulled out of one's rear end, of course.

We all fit into one of these categories:

a. Don't believe in a religion
b. Had a good education ( if you look at most of these people who are against gay marriage has had a poor education ) p.s by education i don't mean good marks.. just the fact you've been in school and last through elementary
c. Trying to inflict your believes onto others just because you think you're right and whatever they believe in is wrong... o.o common people I know that it may seem completely stupid not to introduce gay marriages to you but.. it doesn't mean that it's completely right

P.S i am not against gays o.O as a liberal canadian i think it's perfectly fine and people should be able to do whatever they want

George Bush ... if we aren't talking marks, he went to Harvard he is against it ... most of the people in his party are against it and they are all well educated.

Get your facts right, it's Yale

furthermore George Bush got into yale with connections.... and! he fits into a political spectrum... and as a republican thats one of his policies... so he has to stick to it. And as much as he isn't suppose to lean toward any religion he is a clear cut christian

Yale and Harvard are on the same level, they're both top schools.

Anyways, I'm not really against homosexuality but I don't really like it either.

So, as long as it doesn't come knocking on my door, I won't be forced to take out a gun and shoot it!

Seems like most of our members are very accepting and open minded from the comments so far.

I have nothing against Homosexual Marriages out of or even in a Church, as long as say there is some sort of notification outside of the church, like warning you of a gay marriage, that way I could go outside for about 20 minutes during the precedings.

Im am sorry if you take offense but that has got to be one of the stupidiest things I've ever heard for one you contradict yourself by first stating that you have no issue with it, then go on to say you want prior notification as if those getting married are diseased. Marriage is marriage whether it be two males/females or a male and a female getting married the vows and meaning behind it do not change because of gender.

Wouldn't that be insulting if there was a warning? lol Wouldn't you already know anyway whose marriage it is? And if not, why be there?

I have no probably with anybody getting married in my church, but I know that it got put infront of the church board and they voted that there will be no gay marriages performed at my church. I'm okay with that, I think that a church should be able to say no, we won't. It might not be the decision but I have to live with it. Soon, most of them will be dead and we can change it.

Homophobics bug me because they can never see the other side, all they can think about is themselves, they think apparently a gay person can't love.

Seeing as my sexuality deems me to be a-frickin'-okay with homosexuality and same-sex marriage, I think that it's fine.

However, gay people cannot be placed in union in front of God. They'll never be seen as 'married' by God, apparently.

I'm not Christian, but the bible makes it very clear that all of those things are wrong, and therefore the Church will not adhere to it.

Mind you, if I were a clear cut gay I wouldn't want to get married in front of some invisible guy with a long white beard who hates me because I like teh Pussy Cats instead of teh cock.

So civil partnership it is [Wink].
