|
|
What is “education”? It is simply academics—reading, writing, mathematics. If a student is not having difficulties in their academic work but has other “special needs” that are not so directly tied to a student’s academic study, ought the school district to still provide for those “special needs”?
What purposes does education serve?
It gives you a large body of common language, and common culture,
and methods of figuring without which we cannot communicate or trade.
A country full of uneducated people that don't share the same alphabet,
language, and protocols is a country of broken business, unread warning
labels, accidents, fraud, and incorrect adding and subtracting at cash registers.
