Post subject: The sense of Self

Through all this medical advancement and all the brain area's we have gone through and mapped, we still cannot find where our sense of self comes from, the thing that makes the trillions of cells into ONE living breathing THINKing organism.

Could this sense of self be the soul?

Discuss.

Yes i think it may be the soul though not in a religious sense. I believe everybody has a soul, the soul being what makes them the person they are.

Yup doctors and scientists have been trying to find out that for years. It could very well be the soul that is responsible for consciousness.

After thinking about it for awhile I think it could very well be the soul that makes us who we're.

It adds up because good or evil everyone has one and there are tons of things that are probably kept up there. I wonder if you were able to understand your soul more if it would have the same effect on understand yourself.

s'all just how your brain's made, none are the same, but neither are people.. "soul" doesn't make what you look like, don't know why it'd make how you respond to things

If people don't have proof (not just an opinion, but irrefutable proof) they call it "unscientific." Thus, science is built around facts.

In any case, I really don't have an answer for the question at hand in this thread. I'd have to think about that more.
