I'm still here. I'm hoping to start something with Kris to bloom up the community.
Well admittedly there was a long time between my post and yours... so the activity aint that bangin'.
However, I'm totally down to help out. Would be very interested to see if people would be interested to get something going. I actually found this site because it was on Flippa (or one of the auction places) and was very interested in purchasing if there was still actvity. Guess not though.

Were you around in the old days?
Hey Bishop. Welcome to the site. Glad you like it.
Yeah you're right that it ain't that bangin' right now but thats because there hasn't been any effort from me to keep the site active as I'm too busy with other things in life. We have a great memberbase and if we had an active administrator that regularly updated and promoted the site, we would quickly get things going again. We have a a great site here!

In your words what was this site all about back in the day? I'd love to hear it from the horses' mouth so to speak. What did you guys do? What kind of people came to the site?
I hear you with getting busy in life. These things can be mega tricky sometimes to keep going when they aren't payin' the ol' bills.
I actually run a company that manages websites, which is why we've been interested in various sites like this. We're buying up a few of them and experimenting on if its possible to really revitalize a community. We've mostly done work with much bigger and active sites, but I'd love to have a crack at a smaller one.
Anyways no pressure or anything, just would love to put the helping hand out there if needed. We're somewhat backed up in projects right now but some help here and there would definitely be possible.
Most of the members were from gaming communities but it got bigger and I guess it was advertised through other people and events. The site used to be active where discussion was constant but the site had nothing of interest because of the "freelance" style. No body would benefit from this site other than discussion. It needs a more 'direct' niche.
However I'm 100 percent certain that this site can be revived if effort is put into it. I currently have a semi official affiliation website with communityflow in attempt to revive this community and establish my community. The Zenko <3 Project
Now, I think that since summer is nearing we could begin attempting to revitalize the site and attract all the "Young Adults".
I still check in now and again... but Due to inactivity not that often
Where were most people on the site from?
Here is an excerpt from an old "about" page:
Quote:
Before the name Community Flow we were actualy a very small gaming community for the website Habbo Hotel, and our domain was Bizkitshow.com/forum. We developed quite a huge fan base once our website became quite a franchise throughout the habbo hotels and over a 1 year period our forum built up to over 1000 members and 50,000 posts. Quite a while later most of our members moved on - not many played Habbo Hotel any longer and the only way to keep this amazing community together was to start out fresh but this time involve the whole world and not only a simple fraction of people from a gaming website.
After many discussions and planning we formed this website you see today, with a more edgy feel to allow ourselves to express ourselves without censorship, and this will allow us to show a whole new side of this very old community.
So essentially we were a small gaming community, and now we are a freelance forum for young adults like Zenko <3 said.

Any idea what the current levels of traffic are like? I notice the "website for sale" link, but there isn't a date range on the revenue, and there isn't date-ranged traffic numbers.
I'd be curious to see what the monthly uniques / pageviews are like for the last 30 days. As well, if the 3,000 members have signed up to receive email. I think if there are people browsing by then they could be re-captured.
Focus is key thats for sure. Helps give a reason for a forum to exist in these days of the facebook onslaught.
Last month (July) we got a total of 16,000 visits.
Interestingly enough, over the past year despite the site being 'dead' (ie. I'm not actively updating or participating in the site) we have steadily grown in visitors and adsense profits. Still doesn't compare to where we were when I was active with this site, however this shows that this audience can be recaptured as there are still lots of lurkers as a result of some heavy web optimization that I was doing. We are actively featured on a few youtube videos that have 500,000+ views as well which brings daily visitors and additional profits despite the lack of acitivity.
Everyone on our site is on our mailing list so if you wanted to re-start the site you could e-mail our 3000+ member base and you could grab a good fraction of that who still actively use their e-mails and have been part of the site in the past.
The price I'm asking is ridiculously cheap when looking at everything included. The amount of customizations is truly astonishing; and you really dont get to appreciate all of it until you browse through my cpanel and admin panel at the immense amount of custom work that when into this in regards to coding, layouts, web optimization, etc. etc.
I haven't actively been selling the site either other than 1 ad I put a year ago on a site, but i'm sure I could sell it if I pursued it more aggressively. I guess in the back of the mind I wish I would come back to Community Flow and restore it to its previous activity and profit
