Does your city have a teenage curfew law enforced?? Mine doesn't.. but after a certain hour at night if you do something like be too loud or are involved in some kind of illegal activity you get fined even more for doing it after that hour.. yeah. I forgot what hour it is
I wouldn't really care so I have arguments against and for a strict curfew where you have to be in at home at a certain time. The only way I'd go against it is if it were at an early hour like 10 or somethin :S I work until 11.
But I think it's a good thing because you'll be safe at home late at night from street cars + people in their cars might be more tired coming home at night. There's be less noise, parents wouldn't have to worry, maybe less crime?
It might be a bad thing too cause whenever there is a rule created people always have to go and break it So people would rebel and go "sneak out". Parents might have already made a curfew for their children so it might become even more unfair to them.
As far as I know they only happen in small towns here. I know that my city doesn't have one, or I might lose my mind.
They want you to be active so you aren't obese, yet they won't let you go out. Some summer nights it doesn't cool off until over 10 so if you wanted to go for a walk or something you would have to do it in the stifeling heat, and we all love that.
curfues r for pussies.. if there was a curfue, i wouldnt beable to play nikki at 2 in the morning with my friends, and i wouldnt beable to get chased by the cops, and hop fences, while throwing shit at my friends to try and outrun them, then making fun of a fat guy in the middle of winter in a hottub, then being amused by him chasing you, the finaly get away, throw something at a car, and have them chase you, go home, and sleep it off
lol, im an adrenilan junkie

What happened to not posting in old topics? I don't think there is a teen curfew where I live, but I'm not outside after 11 unless I'm coming home from the theatre or walking about
Seeing as this was brought back I might as well add in my opinion.
I personally feel that curfews are a serious damper on our rights. With obvious exceptions. If you're being loud and waking people up after 11, yeah some cop should come and arrest you. However if you are simply walking around and a cop stops you, I find that completely absurd. As long as people aren't being rowdy, I don't see why they should be forced to go home. Goes to show we don't have complete control over what we do.
Syracuse mall over here in New York (US) has placed a curfew. Teenagers ranging from 13 to 18 must be with an adult, or something along the lines of that. All I know is that if I was 17 and simply walking to the Radio Shack and a security guard throws me out, I would be severely....upset.
I waiver back and forth on this one...Do I believe someone who is 14 needs to be out later than midnight doing god knows what? Or any other example as to why a curfew may be needed...The answer is no...Do I believe anyone should have the right to dictate that? No. Honestly I think its a parents responsibility to police what there children are doing as long as they are underage and living under there roof. If a 13-18yr old person goes out and acts like an ass my question would be...Where the hell where there parents when there kid was out walking the streets at 2am. What the hell did the parent instill in the vandal jackarsing around late at night.
So on one hand I disagree but on the other I dont if a parent cannot police there kid and teach them to be responsible than I do believe in some situations others need to step in and enforce those laws of society thus keeping the peace.
I was just about to hit submit when I starting thinking about it...Why arent there curfews for the other dinks in the world beyond there teen years that still decide to go out and do stupid things? Discrimination much?
