Post subject: Anti-gayness

The one thing that pisses me off about Anti-gays who base their intolerance off of their religion is that they emphasize it so much. How is it any worse than coveting thy neighbors goods or respecting your mother and father or lying? I don't see rallys of anti-neighbor coveters. Why do they emphasize that particular aspect of the scripture that isn't mentioned any more than the part about eating animals that chew the cud and have a split toe?

Sure, I guess it's frowned upon but why this issue more than other numerous aspects of the Christain faith?

I am Christian, and I feel the most important aspect is loving Christ and being a person, not hating someone because of their lifestyle. I have gay friends, they are nice people who I get along with. My religion has nothing to do with it.

I wholeheartedly agree. I think it's stupid that people can try to hide their fear to a different approach to things behind their religion. Being agnostic I'm not exactly in any position to criticise or condone their practices, but I have gay friends and family members and they're really great people. There's no point in hating someone just becuase of what someone else said, really..

People should have the right to love who they want and people should allow such instances. I've had a close friend who had a very religious family and he used to go to Sunday school, actively go to church, etc. When he turned 18 he realized that he was homosexual, even though he was taught and believed that it was wrong. When he mustered enough courage to tell his parents, they kicked him out of the house and cut off all communication with him. So if you believe that homosexuality is caused at a chemical level, it could happen to anyone regardless of religion. Then again people could go throughout their life and think of it as wrong.

There are physiological differences in the brains of homosexuals.

There are physiological differences in everyone's brain.

And, there has been no conclusively proof nor will there ever be conclusive proof that that is why people are attracted to the same sex.

Technically there is no conclusive proof to many things in Science, Psychology, and Theology. I was referring to LeVay's research on the anterior hypothalamus, as well as prenatal testosterone baths. So I won't say there is "Proof" I'll use "Statistically significant data that you may be free to interpret on your own"

No, not at all. Psychology never says it proves anything. If it does prove something it calls it statistically significant or correlatory. But i don't feel like debating if you aren't going to actually discuss things.
