Abortion

I think sometimes Abortion and Adoption could be punishments.

Hypothetical Situation:

Canada. Poor family. No jobs, dirt house, barely any food, living in a forest somewhere. End of the line. They have a child. While at the hostpital, the doctor makes them fill out a form talking about their lifestyle,finances,and living environment. If it is not fit for the baby, then perhaps the doctors will demand the baby be put up for adoption.

In time, say, maybe 8 years, if the family has built a suitable living, the child will have the chance to return to their true home. I know it is harsh ( and if I was a parent, and someone tried to take my kid away... ) but it would be better for the health and well being of the child.

its their own body. the baby isnt alive therefore it is her decision to make about what she does with her body.

I think abortion is gayy. cus like yawww. iff yeww dont wanna have a baby use protection ;] adn yaww its gayy if yeww dont want the baby put it up fer adoption. if yeww dont wanna go through with the pain of the abortion then why would you put a baby through that much pain. a baby can feel it yeww no -.- and iff yeww didnt want to get a baby then dont have sex [Surprised]

I disagree with abortion, you're killing a new life - I don't disagree with adoption though, as you're trying to give your child a new life something they'd never have.
It's mainly irreponsible teenagers that have to go for abortion, either that or unwealthy families.

I think it all comes down to the fact that everyone has a right to new life.

In response to what a lot of people will counter with:
- I believe the baby is certainly alive, it has a genetic code that is already in place; in 10 years the baby will have brown hair hazel eyes slight freckles etc. I believe in fate/destiny so I guess if you don't believe in that either let's debate that [Razz]

I believe that the option should be there. There are some instances where the woman could die if she went through with the pregnancy & risk killing the fetus as well. There are also so many kids who are in the foster care system & miserable. There aren't enough people adopting all of these kids. & then there's always rape. & you can use birth control, but there's nothing that is 100% effective. There are many reasons to get an abortion.

I do think abortion is a terrible thing & I wish it didn't have to happen. If I got pregnant right now, I don't know if I could handle having an abortion. But I still believe a woman should have the right to having an abortion.

In my opinion, abortion is okay.

I would never give it up for adoption unless I was too far gone to have an abortion, and it'd have to be a private adoption rather than given to the state.

If I got pregnant now, during my education, I'd abort for the simple reason this is my kid, and I'm not giving it up to someone if I have it, but when I do have a child, I want to care for it and be able to give it all the things I've never have.

I want to love it, and give it as much time in the world, and always know that I've got my education to fall back on if everything else falls through workwise.

If I were raped or whatever, and conceived a child, I'd abort it for the simple reason that some psychologists have at leeast part proven that impulsion to rape someone can be in a gene rather than a product of society, although that can be a factor. Also, I'd not like to bring up a child and have to tell it that I was raped by its father, or lie to it its whole life - that just isn't right.

Anyhow, I do agree with abortion, afterall, 9 months is a long time and there are far too many children being born everyday, plus the fact that I'm not sure how many people in western culture are actually ready to produce a child and raise it properly.

I would have to side with the pro choice side. I do understand that it is "killing" a potential human being but accidents do happen and people may not be ready to take care of their kid yet. Even though it could be debated that it's irresponsible in the first place for accidents and that once you have a child you are ultimately testing your responsibility. In cases of rape then I would completely side with abortion.

I am totally pro choice....so my view is that it is only acceptable in certain cases. We shouldnt allow just anyone and everyone to have them, but if a problem arises the mother should be able to choose. For example, if the pregnancy effects the mothers life then she should be able to choose to save her life.

I read something not too long ago about a woman who was transfered from her job to a family planning facility and she thought she could handle it, but what she witnessed was so disturbing that when I heard her story I cried and gagged. Really, I should find the story. But maybe not. It's all too graphic.
