Gamestop/Eb Games follow the same rules. You can either put $5 down to reserve, or you can pay the full price up front.
Also, it's 2 days before they sell it off to someone else. I pre-ordered Super Smash Brothers Brawl, that's the only game I probably will ever have to pre-order.
