Degrassi has been my favourite show since I started watching it back in 2001 to 2002. I've always loved the drama that the show had and even though I didn't really grasp the entire storyline until around season's three and four it was still I show that I made sure I was around for on Friday nights.

The show was based off of it's counter partner Degrassi High, Degrassi Juniour High, and The Kids of Degrassi Street, both of which featured most of the adult cast that you continue to see today. The show wasn't much more then a Summer job when it first began, but as the cast came back each season they began to care more and more about the ratings and their developing storylines.

The idea of Degrassi: The Next Generation came from Emma, who was the child that Spike [Christine] conceived during Degrassi Juniour High. When they calculated how old she would be they found that she would be about turn go into grade seven. So they processed the idea and well as you can see people liked it because it's on it's seventh season now.

Personally my favourite character was J.T. Yorke and Rock This Town and The Bitterest Pill basically just broke my heart, thankfully I was able to see it on the CTV version though because The-N cut a lot of the stabbing scene out which I was kind of disappointed in, but hey, I guess they don't want a law suite on their hands.

My favourite season would have to be either season four, season five or season seven. Just don't get me started on season six though, worst season in Degrassi history, except for the two episodes that I mentioned in the above.

Anyways I just wanted to see if anyone else enjoys and watches the show or not. [Smile]

Umm it isn't shown on any irish t.v channels and I haven't seen it on any cable channels. I must watch it to see what it's like.

I'm most definitely not a fan of that show,

The acting seems mediocre to me...

but i can be picky =P

I loved the old degrassi...gosh that makes me feel old. The new one is ok. I watch it when I remember. I like the way they go about storylines...the average person can in one way or another normally related to some aspect of it.

I used to watch it back in 7th/8th grade when my family had the N. I am now a Junior. You can see how long ago that was. I loved it though.
