Anyone else live in the south? Im in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Rita is just not getting to the area, Baton Rouge is only getting the edge of the storm but we are also getting the worse side. Katrina didnt really casue to much damage here other then downed trees and MAJOR power outages but what it did do was double the population in less then 12 hours. All of New Orleans was moved here and getting around town for the following week was hell, and I have a good feeling thats just what rita is going to do. So far with rita all we are getting is heavy rain and wind. As of right now I still have power but that can change at any moment
As I live in the Caribbean, I know EXACTLY how you feel. It was only by a stroke of luck that Ivan didn't pass straight through Barbados last year [it swerved and hit Grenada instead]
Well I just woke up and still have power. I havnt check the news just yet but the storm seems to have passed me up for the most part. Still some wind and rain tho so we will see what comes of that.
you probablly wont be getting more than the rain and winds, rita is weakening as its approaching, what really shocked me is seeing on the new how rita's rain water broke the damaged levy system, now all the water is flooding the city of new orleans once again, so sad
Yeah, I live in the south. Texas. All of Houston evacuated up north into the Dallas area. I live right outside of Dallas. Just when all the Katrina people came from New Orleans to Houston.. once again they have to move...! The news said there is a high chance of rain, gusty winds, and tonados. So far near dallas we have gotten no rain and no tornados. There were some pretty threatening clouds here early that hung around all day, But not a drop of rain. The wind was pretty bad but not tooo terrible. Almost flew my car door open today in the parking lot tho ! Yeah, so we are hangin in there. Hopefully things will end up tomorrow, the same as today.
I watch the hurricane channel lol. I feel bad for you guys & what happened to the people in New Orleans. Hope it dies down soon and nothin major happens to those guys. but it seems like once one hurricane ends there's another one
