A solar eclipse involves the sun and it's not advisable to look directly at the sun because the rays will damage your eyes but the moon doesn't emit light rays so you can look at it without damaging your eyes.

Well if the moon doesnt give off Light waves How can we see it and if we can look at the sun on a regular day whats the difference if the moons in the way
We can see the moon because light rays from the sun hit off of it making it visible to us.
On a regular day the sun isn't obstructed so it's much more dangerous to look at it, during a solar eclipse the moon gets in the way blocking most of the light but it's still dangerous to look up at it.
