And laura's my backup [Wink]

I do understand American football. My brother has this game on the PS2 which is actually good fun and has taught me most of what I know, but to be honest, Rugby is more technical and much more physical. Soccer's good too but Rugby is more civilised.

Football/Soccer's a game for gentlemen played by thugs. Rugby's a game for thugs played by gentlemen.

You still dont fully understand it...The games always screw up in a lot of areas.

Rugby is more physical? I hope you werent comparingt that to Amercian football there...And they dont even hit all that hard in rugby... in amercian football i guy can put everything he has into a shot and not even get a bruise, while if u put everything into a shot on rugby, chances are you are going to break a collarbone, r a shoulderblade r sumthing...which makes guys not hit that hard...American Football is so much better when you hit somebody because you can actually here the contact and it is great when you nail a guy so hard his helmet flys off or something like that.

Ok maybe not that much more physical.

But it still requires a lot more skill. Throw ins for example need the hooker to throw straight, the communication between the players to be clear and the one who's catching to be on the ball.

Then there's the whole thing about going forward without doing a forward pass and dont even get me started on the scrums.

American Football to me looks like a bunch of guys roughing eachother up a bit. Seems a bit naff that you can score by just hurling the ball to the end of the pitch. Its too easy..

I like both rugby and football but probably tend to lean more towards rugby. Can't honestly give a good reason for it though =D I do know about both games have seen both live and on tv. Go Rugby =D

I was under the impression that your quarter-back(is that the name?) could throw the ball the length of the field to another player for them to get a touchdown?

Well...yeah but..

1. You need a guy who can throw a ball 100 yards while being rushed by big 300 pound linemen and still be accurate

2. you need a receiver that is going to be able to catch it while being covered by a guy

it sounds kind of easy, but it isn't. it is extremely hard to catch a long ball while being covered by a guy who is trying to knock/intercept the ball while you are also going for it...

and to me rugby seems like a bunch of guys just roughing each other up with some rules kind of like soccer...football is some guys hitting eachother, but that is usually the fun in it, and its not like that is all they do. everyone needs to be aware of what is going on around them to be able to make a play and you have to have talent to play any position and be good at it.

I love rubgy ^_^ It's nice seeing all the buff lads running around throwing a ball around without all of the padding on. I really don't like American football though. It's too physical

And don't even GET me started on soccer. If the crap they put in the press is bollocks enough, the whole get-the-ball-in-the-net-and-start-screaming-like-a-loonie thing is just stupid xP [I also suck at soccer, but that's not the point. >.>;]

Kobe,

We'll just have to agree to disagree. Rugby is a highly skilled game which, unlike soccer, relies on the whole team to work together to be able to win a match. You can't rely on one talented individual to win and run the game for you. It just wont happen.

Some of those lawn faries are rather good and dont start slagging off soccer/football/fitbaaaaaw! You stick to breaking your arms and legs in American Football
I would rather prance around a pitch looking at the talent [Nice boys in shorts] than have to look at guys grabbing each other everywhere ;o Not my bag

I've never played Official Rugby on a rugby field, but me and my friends have tooken the rugby rules and played it with a soccer ball. It is lotsa fun, bu painful.

My dad was a Centre ( gut who snaps the ball ) for his Rugby team in University.
